Lossy Famous is comprised of halftone prints of celebrities. AI-generated images of celebrities are treated as tools to edit and stamp repeatedly over the print, through which likeness is compressed and duplicated. Identity is treated as an abstract state that stabilizes or fragments during circulation. Recognition persists in a degraded form as the works register the quick production and erosion of contemporary fame.
